2. He was selected in the second round of the 1986 draft out of Southwest Texas State where he earned a reputation as one of college football’s best deep threats, catching 63 passes for 1,192 yards and 14 touchdowns during his final two collegiate seasons!
3. During his NFL years , he amassed 619 receptions, 8,878 receiving yards, and 65 touchdowns while playing on some very successful teams such as ’88 San Francisco 49ers and ’91 Washington Redskins squads resultingly won Super Bowl titles that year!
4. Off the field , he is known for being active supporter of several charities throughout Washington D.C., such as “Ricky Sanders Foundation” which provides scholarships to underprivileged youth living within D.C city limits who have expressed an interest in pursuing college education or technical trades !
