• One of Jackson’s most memorable moments as an Angel came in Game 5 of the 1982 American League Championship Series against the Milwaukee Brewers. With two outs in the top of the ninth inning and the game tied, Jackson hit a home run off Brewers pitcher Pete Ladd that proved to be the winning run. The home run earned him the nickname “Mr. October.”
• After leaving the Angels following the 1983 season, Jackson went on to play one final season with the Oakland Athletics before retiring.
