1. Landon Collins was born on January 10th, 1995 in New Orleans, Louisiana. He played college football at the University of Alabama where he was a two-time All-American and the SEC Defensive Player of the Year in 2014.
2. His hometown roots have been an inspiration to him throughout his journey in the NFL, making him one of the most driven athletes today.
3. In 2015, Collins was drafted by the New York Giants as the 33rd overall pick, becoming the first safety drafted that year.
4. Under head coach Pat Shurmur’s direction with the giants, Collins excelled as a leader and quickly became one of the team’s best defenders leading all safeties with 125 tackles during his rookie season.
5. In 2016 and 2017, he was selected for two consecutive Pro Bowls and also became part of Pro Football Writers Association’s All-Rookie Team that same year as well as voted to Sports Illustrated’s All-Pro Second Team after a 2016 season!
6. Not only is Landon an incredible player on-field but off field he was just as active; being awarded the Walter Payton Man Of The Year nomination & finalist in 2018 due to his selfless acts such as working alongside “Boys & Girls Clubs Of America” which proved to be an example of continuing bringing impact to those around him while succeeding himself within his own journey!
7. In 2019, Collins left New York to join Washington’s franchise after signing a massive 6 year 84 million dollar contract –making him NFL’s highest paid safety at time– just 1 day into free agency period astonishingly enough!
