  1. Hank Aaron was born on February 5, 1934 in Mobile, Alabama.
  2. He played for the Milwaukee and Atlanta Braves from 1954 to 1974, and then finished his career with the Milwaukee Brewers from 1975 to 1976.
  3. Aaron is best known for breaking Babe Ruth’s all-time home run record on April 8, 1974, when he hit his 715th career home run off of Al Downing of the Los Angeles Dodgers.
  4. Despite facing racism and death threats during his pursuit of Ruth’s record, Aaron remained a dignified and gracious athlete throughout his career.
  5. In addition to his home run record, Aaron also holds several other MLB records including most runs batted in (RBI), extra base hits, and total bases.
  6. After retiring as a player, Aaron worked in various roles within Major League Baseball including as a senior vice president and director of player development with the Atlanta Braves. He also established the Hank Aaron Chasing the Dream Foundation to help children pursue their dreams through education and sports.
