  1. Earl Weaver was a legendary Major League Baseball manager who helmed the Baltimore Orioles from 1968-1982 and 1985-1986.
  2. He was born in Saint Louis, Missouri on August 14th, 1930 and is widely considered one of the greatest strategic minds in the history of the sport.
  3. During his tenure with the Orioles, Weaver won four AL pennants, six division titles and a World Series Championship in 1970 – making him one of only two men in baseball history to manage the same team for 16 seasons or more!
  4. His teams were known for their aggressive style of play which often resulted in frequent arguments with umpires and opposing managers – earning him numerous run-ins with league officials over his career.
  5. Weaver was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1996 due to his long list of accomplishments while at the helm as Orioles manager and remains an iconic figure that many current players look up to as a role model today.
