Don Sutton was a professional baseball player who pitched for several teams throughout his career, including the Los Angeles Dodgers. He was known for his durability and consistency on the mound, earning him a spot in the Baseball Hall of Fame. Here are some fun facts about this legendary pitcher:

• Sutton was born in 1945 in Clio, Alabama. He grew up playing baseball and basketball and attended college at Gulf Coast Community College before transferring to Mississippi State University.
• In 1966, Sutton signed with the Los Angeles Dodgers as an amateur free agent. He made his debut with the team in 1966 and quickly established himself as one of its top young pitchers.
• Throughout his career, Sutton won over 300 games and struck out nearly 3,600 batters. He was named an All-Star four times and won five Gold Glove awards for his excellent fielding.
• Sutton played for several teams throughout his career, including the Houston Astros, Milwaukee Brewers, Oakland Athletics, and California Angels. However, he is best known for his time with the Dodgers.
• After retiring from baseball in 1988, Sutton became a broadcaster for several teams, including the Atlanta Braves and Washington Nationals. He was known for his insightful commentary and colorful personality.
• In addition to his success on the field and in broadcasting, Sutton was also a devoted family man. He had four children with his wife Mary whom he married in 1969.
