Here are some fun facts about Chet Lemon, a former Major League Baseball player:

  1. Chet Lemon was born on February 12, 1955 in Jackson, Mississippi.
  2. He played for three teams during his career: the Chicago White Sox, Detroit Tigers, and finally the Oakland Athletics.
  3. Lemon was known for his excellent defensive skills as an outfielder and won two Gold Glove awards during his career (1980 and 1984).
  4. He made his major league debut with the White Sox in 1975 at just 20 years old.
  5. Lemon was a key member of the 1984 Detroit Tigers team that won the World Series; he hit .417 in the series and made several key defensive plays.
  6. After retiring from baseball, Lemon went on to coach high school baseball in Florida and founded a youth baseball program called “Chet Lemon’s Juice.”
  7. In addition to baseball, Lemon also played college football at Long Beach City College before being drafted by the White Sox.
