Bo Jackson: The Two-Sport Phenom on the Kansas City Royals
Bo Jackson is a former professional athlete who played both football and baseball at the highest level. Here are some fun facts about his time with the Kansas City Royals:
- Jackson was drafted by the Royals in 1986, and he made his debut with the team later that year.
- In his first full season with the Royals in 1987, Jackson hit 22 home runs and stole 10 bases. He was named to the American League All-Star team that year.
- One of Jackson’s most memorable moments with the Royals came during the 1989 All-Star Game, when he hit a massive home run off of San Francisco Giants pitcher Rick Reuschel. The ball traveled an estimated 448 feet and landed on the roof of the stadium.
- In addition to his success on the field, Jackson was known for his incredible athleticism. He famously ran up a wall in Baltimore to make a catch during a game against the Orioles in 1990.
- Unfortunately, Jackson’s baseball career was cut short due to a hip injury he suffered while playing football for the Los Angeles Raiders. He retired from baseball in 1994 but remains one of the most exciting players in Royals history.
Coasters are an ideal home décor accent, crafted with attention to detail and quality. Each coaster boasts an authentic card hand-mounted onto the high-quality ceramic tile measuring 4.25 x4.25 inches in size and 0.25 inches thick. The card may not always be the one pictured, as it depends on the current inventory. However each card is carefully curated by Jake and Dean and the beauty and character is sure to impress! The tiles are then sealed with a bio-based resin for unbeatable protection, while the natural cork backing gives it that finished touch and makes it easy to showcase anywhere.
